Globalisation seems to be an inevitable process and I am quite positive that it will continue during the next few decades. I basically see it as a positive phenomenon, sill do have some doubts, which are probably common for all of us witnessing the changes that are taking place in front of our eyes.
National identity is obviously one of the fundamental issues which have been rising questions and doubts among people all around the globe. In my opinion it is a factor which will remain important and play a crucial role in the integration of members of different communities. I may sound strange but I do believe that staying loyal to your country, cultivating the national culture and being faithful to your religious beliefs does not mean opposing to international, multicultural reality that all of us are part of. The fact that each of us roots from different cultural, ethnic and historical background is actually the main agent of change. While remembering about our country and tradition we must respect and appreciate other peoples views and opinions. We cannot forget that despite all the features characteristic for particular nations, tribes and ethnic groups there are many values which are shared by us on the global scale. It is clear that globalisation advocates changes and transforms our reality. On the other hand national identity should be treated as a great contribution to the development of our planet and relations between various nations.
I do hope that we can all preserve the elements which are important to us and co-operate with others at the same time. National identity is something that should protect the world from becoming unilateral.
